Specialist Training Programs
This year at the Perth Saints FC, we’ve been lucky to have a new Specialist Coach on board…
Training at the Bowls Club end of Tompkins Park in Alfred Cove, you may have spotted former Liverpool FC and Socceroos’ Goalkeeper, Brad Jones.
Having also played for Middlesbrough, Feyenoord, Al Nasser and most recently Perth Glory, it’s not every day that Perth footballers, young and the not-so-young, get to be mentored by such a high-calibre coach as Jones.
Brad has been running sessions for our Perth Saints goalkeepers from Under 8s to Masters and the training is already paying off.
“I got awarded man of the match after my first session training with Brad” said Masters Goalkeeper, Adrian Tame.
U13s Goalkeeper, Lucas Simeone, commented that he used to be scared to dive and would look at the floor rather than the ball, but Brad told him: “You’re going to hit the ground anyway, so just go for it.”
